Mrunal Thakur And Huma Qureshi’s 'Pooja Meri Jaan' Gets October 2 Premiere

After nearly four years in release limbo, 'Pooja Meri Jaan' starring Mrunal Thakur and Huma Qureshi is finally set to premiere on ZEE5 on October 2, 2026. The thriller, directed by Navjot Gulati, completed production in 2022 but remained unreleased amid prolonged discussions over its streaming release. ZEE5 has now officially listed the film for October 2.

The project was originally intended for JioCinema, but its release plans changed following the merger of Disney+ Hotstar and JioCinema. Gulati later said negotiations with streaming platforms continued for months over the film’s valuation, leaving the project stuck without a release.

Gulati had publicly expressed his frustration over the delay in February, saying the film had been ready but remained caught in negotiations. He also said he feared the project could remain unreleased indefinitely. The filmmaker has since shifted focus to finally bringing the film before audiences.

The film’s official teaser was released in July, offering a glimpse into its unsettling story. Mrunal plays Pooja, while Huma appears as a lawyer. The teaser hints at obsession, fear and the pressure surrounding Pooja’s situation. Gulati has described the project as a courtroom drama dealing with abetment to suicide, a subject he believes remains relevant.

Mrunal and Huma are joined by Vikram Singh Chauhan and Vijay Raaz. The film is produced by Dinesh Vijan and Amar Kaushik under Maddock Films, with Vipasha Arvind serving as co-director. Vishal Mishra has composed the music.

With its trailer now carrying the confirmed October 2 premiere date, 'Pooja Meri Jaan' is finally moving from a four year wait to its digital debut on ZEE5.
