Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has directed officials to transform Nallagampalli village in Kuppam constituency into a model of sustainable development for the entire state, highlighting its successful implementation of net-zero practices and environmentally responsible living.

During the second day of his Kuppam tour on Saturday, the Chief Minister visited Nallagampalli and reviewed several initiatives adopted by residents to reduce their environmental impact. He inspected homes equipped with rooftop solar power systems , solar induction cooktops, rainwater harvesting facilities, kitchen composting units and terrace gardens. Naidu appreciated the villagers for embracing eco-friendly practices and said such efforts could serve as a blueprint for other rural communities across Andhra Pradesh.

Officials explained that the net-zero initiative focuses on balancing greenhouse gas emissions through renewable energy, efficient resource management and sustainable lifestyles. Impressed by the progress achieved in the village, the Chief Minister instructed officials to document the Nallagampalli experience as a case study and use it for expanding similar programmes across the Kuppam constituency.

Naidu also suggested incorporating electric vehicles into the initiative to strengthen the region’s clean-energy transition. According to officials, the large-scale expansion of rooftop solar installations in Kuppam could substantially reduce electricity costs for thousands of families. The benefits are expected to reach 7,489 Scheduled Caste families, 39,215 Backward Class families and 7,381 Other Category families , helping improve household savings while promoting renewable energy adoption.

Later, the Chief Minister visited the Kuppam Area Hospital , where he inaugurated newly established CT scan and dialysis facilities aimed at improving access to advanced healthcare services. He also reviewed a walking track developed under the Panchatattva concept and planted saplings on the hospital premises.

During the hospital visit, Naidu examined the functioning of Sanjeevani , the digital health records programme being implemented in the region. He directed officials to prepare a comprehensive report on the programme’s impact and the benefits it has delivered to residents, with a view to strengthening digital healthcare management and service delivery.

District Collector Sumit Kumar and other senior officials accompanied the Chief Minister during the visit.
