Nandamuri Balakrishna’s landmark 112th film, tentatively titled “NBK112” , officially went on floors with a grand muhurat ceremony held at the TTD Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple in Venkatapalem near Amaravati on June 25 morning at 9 AM , marking a highly auspicious start for the big-budget Telugu project. Andhra Pradesh IT and HRD Minister Nara Lokesh formally launched the shoot by giving the first clap, making the occasion a high-profile blend of cinema and state leadership.

The film marks the first collaboration between Nandamuri Balakrishna and acclaimed director Koratala Siva , known for his strong mix of commercial storytelling and socially relevant themes. The project is jointly produced by SLV Cinemas and Yuvasudha Arts , led by producers Sudhakar Cherukuri and Sudhakar Mikkilineni , and is already being positioned as a major cinematic venture with the tagline “Power Meets Purpose, Mass Becomes A Movement.”

Reports from the launch event confirm that Koratala Siva has already locked the script, which is said to blend Balakrishna’s mass image with a strong narrative core, while regular shooting is expected to begin shortly after the muhurat. The technical crew is also taking shape, with Anirudh Ravichander widely expected to compose the music, adding to the film’s high anticipation.

A key highlight of the event was Nara Lokesh’s remarks , where he revealed that this was his first-ever film launch attendance. He thanked Balakrishna for the opportunity and said efforts are underway to develop Amaravati as a major hub for film production , under the guidance of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Balakrishna himself. His comments also underscored plans to attract large-scale film shoots and improve infrastructure in the capital region.

Speaking at the event, Nandamuri Balakrishna made a strong statement on the Telugu film industry’s revenue structure, saying that nearly 70% of box office collections come from Andhra Pradesh , while the remaining 30% come from Telangana . He emphasized that since Andhra contributes the majority share of revenues, it deserves greater film activity, better shooting facilities, and stronger production infrastructure to support long-term industry growth.

The ceremony itself was marked by traditional rituals, devotional atmosphere, and industry buzz, with key guests from both cinema and political circles in attendance. Koratala Siva’s collaboration with Balakrishna is being closely watched in the industry, especially given the director’s reputation for combining mass appeal with socially grounded storytelling, seen in films like Srimanthudu and Bharat Ane Nenu .
