Nasha Mukt Bharat’ Cycling Ride Held in Hyderabad to Raise Awareness Against Drugs

A cycling ride was organised in Hyderabad to raise awareness among young people about the dangers of drug abuse and encourage them to adopt a healthy lifestyle. BJP Rajya Sabha MP K. Laxman participated in the ‘Nasha Mukt Bharat–Cycling Ride’ and urged youngsters to stay away from drugs.

Organised by Akshara Sporty, the cycling ride began at the Necklace Road cycle station and concluded at the Dr BR Ambedkar statue. The hour-long event saw participation from local residents, youngsters, students and fitness enthusiasts.

The programme aimed to spread awareness about the harmful effects of drug use, particularly among young people and students, while promoting fitness and healthier lifestyle choices.

Speaking at the event, K. Laxman called for collective efforts to build a drug-free India and said everyone has a role to play in the campaign against substance abuse. He said he joined the cycling ride to create greater awareness about the impact of drug use on young people and students.

Laxman also joined the participants in taking a collective pledge against drugs. He cautioned that addiction could prevent young people from making the most of the opportunities created through various development initiatives.

He stressed that drug abuse can have a serious impact on the future of the youth and urged students and youngsters to remain alert to its harmful consequences.

“Healthy and energetic youth are essential for building a strong and developed India,” Laxman said, while encouraging young people to embrace healthy habits and contribute to the ‘Drug-Free India’ campaign.

The cycling ride combined physical activity with a social awareness message, highlighting the need for greater community participation in efforts to prevent drug abuse among the younger generation.
