NCB Raid in Delhi: Nigerian Woman Dies After Jumping From Balcony, Two Nationals Held

A Nigerian woman who was critically injured after jumping from the second-floor balcony of a building during a Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) raid in Delhi's Mehrauli area has died, according to the latest reports.

The NCB had carried out the raid on Tuesday based on intelligence about suspected drug trafficking from the building. As officers entered the premises, the woman allegedly jumped from the balcony in an apparent attempt to escape. She was rushed to the AIIMS Trauma Centre, where she later died from her injuries.

During the operation, the NCB detained two Nigerian nationals from the building. Officials also recovered suspected narcotic substances, though the exact type and quantity are still being verified through forensic tests.

Investigators are now trying to find out where the suspected drugs came from and whether the accused are linked to a larger drug supply network operating in Delhi and nearby areas. The role of the deceased woman is also being examined as part of the probe.

The case has drawn attention because it comes less than two months after another drug raid in north Delhi, where a foreign woman died after allegedly jumping from a building during a police operation that uncovered a suspected synthetic drug manufacturing unit. That earlier case led to the seizure of chemicals and equipment used to make methamphetamine and exposed a wider drug network.

The NCB has not yet released further details on the seized material or the identities of those detained. The investigation is ongoing.
