NEET UG Refund Deadline Extended Till June 22 as NTA Eases Process for Students
The National Testing Agency has extended the deadline for submitting bank account details for refund of examination fees for NEET UG 2026 candidates till June 22 , giving additional time to students who are yet to complete the process.
According to the agency, nearly 13 lakh candidates have already updated their bank details through the official registration portal, as the refund exercise continues after the cancellation of the examination amid allegations of a paper leak .
The NEET UG 2026 exam, conducted on May 3, was later cancelled on May 12 following concerns over irregularities. The matter is currently under investigation by the CBI , and a re-examination has been scheduled for June 21 .
As part of the revised arrangement, the NTA had earlier announced that no examination fee would be charged for the fresh test and that all previously paid fees would be refunded to candidates.
To facilitate the process, an online facility was opened on the NEET UG registration portal between May 22 and May 26 for submission of bank account details . However, with a large number of students still pending, the agency has now extended the deadline till June 22 up to 11:50 PM .
Officials said the extension aims to ensure that no eligible candidate misses the refund due to delayed submission. Candidates may also upload a cancelled cheque , if required, to ensure accuracy of bank information.
The NTA has clearly stated that once submitted, the bank details will be treated as final , and no further modifications will be allowed.
With nearly 23 lakh candidates registered this year, the refund process remains one of the largest administrative exercises handled by the agency. Students have been urged to complete the formalities well before the deadline to avoid last-minute issues.
The development comes at a crucial time as preparations intensify for the upcoming re examination on June 21 , which is expected to be closely monitored nationwide.
