Netflix Announces ‘India’s Got Latent’ Season 2, New Stand-Up Special With Samay Raina
Streaming giant Netflix on Friday announced a new creative partnership with comedian and content creator Samay Raina, unveiling the second season of his popular talent-based show “India’s Got Latent” along with an upcoming stand-up comedy special .
The second season of “India’s Got Latent” is set to premiere on Saturday , with Netflix introducing a simulcast release strategy that will see episodes streaming simultaneously on Netflix and YouTube , a first-of-its-kind approach for the platform. New episodes will drop once every two weeks , the streamer confirmed.
According to Netflix, the new season retains the show’s original format, which Raina described in a promo as “ same to same ,” with one key difference for Netflix viewers — the absence of advertisements and a comment section , offering a more streamlined viewing experience on the platform.
The announcement comes after several days of speculation on social media, fuelled by cryptic posts from both Netflix and Raina, hinting at a renewed collaboration.
The new season also arrives more than a year after the show faced controversy following remarks made during one of its episodes. A comment by YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia in February 2025 triggered widespread backlash and led to multiple FIRs against comedians and participants involved in that episode of “India’s Got Latent.”
Alongside the series, Netflix has also greenlit an exclusive stand-up comedy special featuring Raina. The project, currently in development, will highlight his signature style of observational humour, storytelling, and candid reflections on everyday life , the platform said. Further details are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
Raina, one of India’s most prominent digital comedy voices, first gained widespread recognition after winning the second season of the stand-up reality show “Comicstaan” in 2019. Since then, he has built a strong fan base across live performances, digital content, podcasts, gaming streams, and reality-format entertainment , expanding his presence as a multi-platform entertainer.
