
New Excise Officers Should Work with Commitment: Kollu Ravindra
Kollu Ravindra , Minister for Mines, Geology and Excise, called upon newly appointed officers in the excise department to discharge their duties with dedication and bring a good reputation to the government and the department.
At a programme organised by the Andhra Pradesh Prohibition and Excise Department , the minister handed over appointment letters to newly selected Prohibition and Excise Sub-Inspectors. He said the coalition government had prioritised employment generation soon after assuming office.
The minister noted that the department has a sanctioned strength of 550 Sub-Inspectors, and the induction of 150 new officers, including 38 women , would bring fresh energy to the department. He added that the government has also launched the recruitment of 16,347 posts through Mega DSC and aims to create employment opportunities for 20 lakh people in the coming years.
He also announced the revival of the Navodayam Program to curb illegal liquor across the state. Officials were directed to act firmly against spurious liquor that threatens public safety and ensure strict control over illegal sales while maintaining safe liquor supply.
Enforcement Director Rahul Dev Sharma advised the officers to understand laws thoroughly during training and use technology in their duties to ensure transparency. Excise Commissioner Chamakuri Sridhar urged them to work responsibly and serve as a bridge between the government and the public.
Additional Commissioner Anasuya Devi , along with other senior officials, attended the programme.
