A Nigerian national, K Prince , who had been absconding for eight years in a Passport Act case registered in Raisen district, Madhya Pradesh, was arrested in Delhi on Friday, police officials said.

In 2018, 20 foreign students of a Bhopal college were booked under the Passport Act for residing in Mandideep without valid passports and visas. While four were arrested at the time, the remaining 16, including Prince, absconded. Police have been tracing their whereabouts, leading to Prince’s arrest in Delhi after eight years. Efforts to apprehend the remaining students are ongoing.

Sub-Divisional Officer of Police (SDOP) Sheela Surana told PTI, “K Prince was traced to Delhi and taken into custody. He was produced before the court in Goharganj, which remanded him in judicial custody.”

Police continue to track the 15 other absconding students from the original case.
