
Nine Killed, Several Injured In Four Separate Road Accidents In Bihar’s Aurangabad District
At least nine people were killed and several others injured in four separate road accidents reported in Bihar’s Aurangabad district over the past two days, officials said on Monday.
The deadliest incident occurred late Sunday evening on NH-19 under the Mufassil police station area when a Varanasi-bound bus carrying tourists from Andhra Pradesh collided head-on with a truck. According to officials, three tourists lost their lives , while more than a dozen passengers sustained injuries. Some of the injured were reported to be in critical condition.
Aurangabad Sub-Divisional Officer Santan Kumar said preliminary findings suggested over-speeding and driver negligence may have contributed to the crash, though a detailed investigation is underway. Traffic on NH-19 was disrupted for some time before police restored normal movement.
In another accident near Dadhpi Mor on NH-120 in the Goh police station area, a car collided with a sand-laden tractor , killing three people and injuring three others. The deceased were identified as Mamta Kumari (45), her daughter Chulbul Kumari (18), and a 17-year-old girl .
Police said the family was returning home after visiting the Madhushrava fair in Arwal district when the accident occurred. Eyewitnesses claimed the tractor was taking a turn when it struck the car. The tractor driver allegedly fled the spot after the crash.
In the third incident, two labourers were killed and nine others injured after a car rammed into an auto-rickshaw near Tejpura on the Daudnagar-Barun Road under Obra police station limits. The victims, identified as Rajesh Paswan and Umesh Paswan , were returning home after work in Rohtas district.
Meanwhile, an NTPC employee died on Monday morning when his motorcycle collided head-on with a pickup vehicle in Nabinagar under NTPC Khaira police station jurisdiction. Police have launched a search for the pickup vehicle driver and are investigating the circumstances leading to the accident.
