Nivetha Thomas Returns With ZEE5 Original ‘Srimathi’ After Two-Year Break

Actress Nivetha Thomas is set to make her Telugu comeback with Srimathi, an upcoming ZEE5 Telugu Original that promises to explore the emotional and relatable world of an ordinary woman balancing family responsibilities with her personal dreams.

Directed by Vishvak Khanderao and produced by K. Niranjan Reddy and Chaitanya Reddy under Prime Show Entertainments, the project has been unveiled with first-look posters carrying the tagline ‘A STORY FROM EVERY HOME!’ The visuals showcase familiar domestic situations, giving the series a warm and homely tone.

The project is particularly significant for Thomas as it marks her return to Telugu cinema after a nearly two-year gap following 35 Chinna Katha Kaadu. The 2024 film earned critical appreciation and strengthened her reputation for choosing performance-driven, character-oriented roles.

According to reports, Srimathi revolves around a middle-class homemaker whose family responsibilities force her to put her own ambitions aside. The story is expected to focus on her journey as she attempts to reconnect with her long-held dream of becoming a dancer, bringing themes of identity, sacrifice and self-discovery into a familiar family setting.

Unlike a conventional theatrical comeback, Srimathi is reportedly heading for a direct OTT release on ZEE5, placing Thomas at the centre of a story designed for digital audiences. ZEE5’s recently announced Telugu content lineup also includes the project among its upcoming original titles.

With Thomas once again choosing a women-centric, emotionally grounded character, Srimathi has already generated interest among Telugu audiences. The makers are yet to announce the official streaming date.
