No CBFC Roadblock for Salman Khan's 'Maatrubhumi', Makers Clarify

Putting an end to widespread speculation surrounding Salman Khan's upcoming war drama 'Maatrubhumi: May War Rest in Peace' , Salman Khan Films has categorically denied reports claiming that the film has been delayed due to certification issues with the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) .

The production house issued an official statement on Saturday, describing such reports as "false" and "entirely baseless." According to the makers, the film has not yet been submitted to the CBFC , making any claims about certification hurdles or approval delays factually incorrect.

In its statement shared on Instagram, the banner clarified that there are no pending censor board issues involving the film. It also urged media organisations, digital platforms, and social media users to avoid circulating unverified information, stressing that all official announcements regarding the film will be made only through Salman Khan Films' authorised channels.

The clarification comes after several reports earlier this week suggested that 'Maatrubhumi' could miss its expected August release because it was allegedly awaiting clearance from the censor board. The production house has now firmly dismissed those claims.

Directed by Apoorva Lakhia , the film is inspired by the 2020 Galwan Valley clash , one of the most significant military confrontations between Indian and Chinese troops in recent years. Salman Khan plays Colonel Bikkumalla Santosh Babu , the commanding officer who made the supreme sacrifice alongside 19 soldiers of the 16 Bihar Regiment while defending the nation's borders.

The project was initially announced under the title 'Battle of Galwan' with a planned theatrical release on April 17 . It was later rechristened 'Maatrubhumi: May War Rest in Peace' , while the release date was postponed. The makers are yet to announce a new theatrical release schedule.

Apart from Salman Khan , the film also features Chitrangada Singh in a pivotal role. With the latest clarification from the production house, attention now shifts to the official release date announcement, which fans are eagerly awaiting.
