
Odisha Clears ₹3,793 Crore Investments, Projects 19,000 New Jobs
In a major boost to industrial development, the Odisha government has approved investment proposals worth ₹3,793 crore across a range of sectors, with the projects expected to generate employment opportunities for more than 19,000 people .
The proposals received clearance at a meeting of the State Level Single Window Clearance Authority (SLSWCA) chaired by Chief Secretary Anu Garg. A total of 24 industrial projects were approved, spanning sectors such as steel and metal downstream industries, renewable energy, advanced materials, electronics and electric vehicle components, textiles and apparel, tourism and hospitality, infrastructure and logistics, food processing, chemicals, consumer products and emerging technologies.
The projects are planned across 14 districts of the state, including Khurda, Dhenkanal, Jharsuguda, Koraput, Jajpur, Sambalpur, Keonjhar, Bolangir, Puri, Cuttack, Sundergarh, Ganjam, Jagatsinghpur and Mayurbhanj.
Among the major proposals, AVP Star Private Ltd will establish a lab-grown diamond manufacturing facility in Khurda with an investment of ₹500 crore , while CESC Green Power Ltd will set up Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) in Dhenkanal with an investment of ₹683.83 crore . The projects reflect Odisha's growing focus on advanced manufacturing, clean energy and technology-driven industries.
The latest approvals underline Odisha's continuing efforts to position itself as a preferred investment destination. The state has been actively promoting ease of doing business and leveraging its industrial ecosystem to attract investments beyond its traditional strengths in mining and metals.
With thousands of jobs expected to be created and investments spread across multiple districts, the approved projects are likely to strengthen regional economic development, boost manufacturing capacity and support the growth of emerging sectors. The investments are also expected to contribute to Odisha's long-term goal of building a diversified industrial base capable of sustaining higher economic growth and employment generation.
