'Om' Stars Sai Pallavi As A Fearless Cop In Dhanush's Rs 200 Crore Action Drama

Sai Pallavi is winning attention for her portrayal of Maa Sita in 'Ramayana'. However, the actress is set to explore a completely different character in her upcoming film 'Om: Chapter 1 – Udhiram: The Blood Wood', starring Dhanush and Mammootty. Reportedly made on a massive Rs 200 crore budget, the action thriller is scheduled to release in theatres on November 20, 2026.

The makers recently unveiled Sai Pallavi's first-look video as Nithya Reddy IPS, introducing her as a determined officer investigating a red sandalwood smuggling network. She joins the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and leads an operation named OM. The character has a personal connection to the mission, as her father, an Indian Forest Service officer, was killed while protecting forests.

The role marks Sai Pallavi's first on-screen appearance as a police officer. Her character is described as a combination of honesty, intelligence and experience. The actress has also praised director Rajkumar Periasamy for giving her a layered role and trusting her with the character.

'Om' also features Mammootty, Sreeleela and Naseeruddin Shah in important roles. Dhanush reportedly plays a woodcutter caught up in the red sandalwood trade, while Mammootty's character is named Karthikeyan. The film reunites Dhanush and Sai Pallavi after their collaboration in 'Maari 2'.

Meanwhile, the film's promotional campaign has gathered momentum. On November 7, the cast attended a grand audio launch in Chennai, with music composer Sai Abhyankkar receiving attention for the album. The makers have also released tracks, including 'Alaakaa Loova' and 'Veezha Veera'.

Initially scheduled for October 16, the film was postponed to avoid a clash with Rajinikanth's 'Jailer 2'. Produced by Dhanush, Shraddha Agrawal and Azmat Jagmag, 'Om' will release worldwide in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi.
