Organ Donation Gives New Lease of Life to Several Patients, Says MLA Galla Madhavi

Guntur West MLA Galla Madhavi has hailed organ donation as one of the most noble acts of humanity, saying that it enables several people to receive a second chance at life even after the donor's death. She praised the family of Challa Siva Nagaraju for making a selfless decision that has become an inspiration to society.

Siva Nagaraju, a resident of Abdul Kalam Nagar in Guntur, suffered severe injuries in a road accident near Budampadu on May 31. Despite undergoing treatment, he later succumbed to his injuries. While the family was coping with an immense personal loss, his wife Lavanya chose to donate his organs, turning a moment of grief into an opportunity to save other lives.

Through the donation of his eyes, kidneys, heart, and liver, several patients undergoing treatment at different hospitals are expected to benefit from life-saving transplants. Madhavi said the family's decision reflected extraordinary courage and social responsibility, particularly at a time when they were dealing with profound sorrow.

The MLA visited the bereaved family and conveyed her condolences. She specially commended Lavanya for her compassionate and courageous decision, noting that choosing organ donation after losing a loved one is a remarkable act of sacrifice and generosity.

Madhavi said such gestures stand as powerful examples of humanity and compassion, demonstrating how one family's decision can bring hope to many others. She emphasised that organ donation has the potential to save multiple lives and called for greater public awareness about its importance.
