Pakistan Forces Kill 67 Afghan Taliban in Border Operations
Pakistan security forces said they killed 67 Afghan Taliban personnel in overnight operations along the southwestern border, repulsing attacks at 16 locations across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and Northern Balochistan, officials stated on Tuesday.
Information Minister Attaullah Tarar said the operations were conducted under Operation Ghazab lil Haq (also referred to as Ghadab-ul-Haq in parts of the official communication), which was launched on February 26 in response to alleged cross-border raids by Afghan Taliban personnel. He said the latest action included the neutralisation of militants during coordinated responses to physical attacks and fire raids.
According to the minister, 40 militants were killed in KP after a physical attack attempt at one location and fire raids across 12 sites , all of which were reportedly repulsed “without any loss of life” on the security forces’ side. In Northern Balochistan, including areas such as Qilla Saifullah, Noshki and Chaman districts , Afghan Taliban forces allegedly attacked 16 locations physically and engaged troops in fire exchanges at 25 positions . Officials claimed these attacks were repelled, resulting in 27 additional militants killed .
The operations reportedly led to casualties among security personnel as well, with one soldier of the paramilitary Frontier Corps (FC) Balochistan North killed and five others injured .
Earlier, the minister had claimed that since the launch of the operation, security forces had killed 435 Afghan Taliban combatants and injured 630 others , besides destroying 188 tanks and armoured vehicles , capturing 31 posts , and targeting 51 locations through air strikes. These figures were presented as government claims and not independently verified.
State-run broadcaster PTV reported that an air operation was conducted in Afghanistan’s Nangarhar province , reportedly destroying the Khogani base . It described the action as targeting “Fitna al-Khawarij” and stated that the operation remains ongoing.
Officials said Operation Ghazab lil Haq continues and will proceed until its stated objectives are achieved.
