
Pakistani Currency Notes, Handwritten Document Seized in J&K's Poonch
Security forces recovered Pakistani currency notes and a handwritten document containing mobile phone numbers from a forested area in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch district on Wednesday, officials said.
According to officials, Army personnel conducting an area domination patrol near the Nar forest area along the Jammu-Poonch National Highway discovered a packet lying in the vicinity. Upon inspection, the packet was found to contain Pakistani currency notes worth Rs 110 and a handwritten slip carrying five mobile phone numbers .
The recovery was made during a routine security operation in the border district , which has remained under close surveillance owing to its strategic location near the Line of Control (LoC) .
Officials said no arrests have been made in connection with the seizure so far. The origin and purpose of the recovered items are yet to be established.
Security agencies have launched an investigation to determine whether the seized currency notes and documents have any links to cross-border activities or other security-related concerns.
Authorities said further investigation is underway , and additional details are expected to emerge as the probe progresses.
