A massive unity rally organised in Kukatpally to mark the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, India's first Deputy Prime Minister, highlighted his enduring contribution to national integration and inspired young people to uphold the country's unity and patriotic values.

The Ekta Yatra, organised across the Malkajgiri Parliamentary constituency under the leadership of BJP Kukatpally Assembly in-charge and Swachh Bharat Abhiyan Foundation founder and chairman Madhavaram Kantha Rao, witnessed enthusiastic participation. Malkajgiri MP Eatala Rajender attended the programme as the chief guest.

One of the major attractions was a massive 750-metre-long national flag, carried by students and youngsters during the rally. Participants dressed as Bharat Mata and freedom fighters, while patriotic slogans reverberated across Kukatpally, creating an atmosphere of national pride.

Addressing the gathering, Eatala Rajender recalled Patel's instrumental role in building a united India. He said the Iron Man of India played a crucial role in integrating more than 500 princely states into the Indian Union after Independence. His contribution laid the foundation for a united nation, which has since emerged as one of the world's leading democracies.

He also recalled that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had declared Patel's birth anniversary as National Unity Day, underscoring the importance of preserving the country's unity and integrity.

Rajender urged young people to learn about the sacrifices and contributions of freedom fighters, including Bhagat Singh, Khudiram Bose, Rani Lakshmibai and Sukhdev. He called upon the younger generation to cultivate patriotism and work towards making India a global leader.

Appreciating Madhavaram Kantha Rao, the MP commended his commitment to organising the Ekta Yatra continuously for the past 11 years, describing the initiative as commendable.

Beyond promoting national integration, the rally also focused on creating awareness about social issues affecting young people. Participants urged youngsters to stay away from drugs and support the vision of a Nasha Mukt Bharat (Drug-Free India).

Placards carrying messages on respecting women were also displayed, highlighting the importance of social responsibility alongside patriotism.

BJP leaders, party workers, students and a large number of young men and women participated in the event, making the rally a platform for promoting national unity, social awareness and civic responsibility.
