Pawan Kalyan Launches Jana Sena Membership Drive with ₹2 Crore Contribution

Jana Sena Party (JSP) president Pawan Kalyan on Sunday launched a renewed active membership enrolment drive at the party’s central office in Mangalagiri, aiming to strengthen the organisation across Andhra Pradesh ahead of its foundation day on March 14. The initiative is designed to expand the party’s grassroots presence, boost cadre morale, and build momentum before upcoming political cycles. To mark the launch, Pawan Kalyan contributed ₹2 crore towards the programme and enrolled himself as the first active member. Addressing party workers, he stressed that the organisation requires committed individuals who understand the party’s ideology and work in alignment with its principles, aspirations, and vision of transparent and accountable governance.

He announced a three-tier classification for members who accept the party’s ideology: Udyami (Activist) those who actively participate in movements and public causes; Saadhak (Mobiliser) members who expand the party’s reach and inspire youth participation while leading enrolment efforts; and Pradata (Contributor) supporters who provide financial, technical, intellectual, or service-based assistance to party initiatives. Party insiders say this structured classification aims to improve cadre accountability, streamline mobilisation, and promote a volunteer-driven political culture.

Recalling the party’s growth, Pawan Kalyan noted that Jana Sena began with just 150 members at its inception in 2014. During the first active membership phase in 2021, about 90,000 people enrolled; the number rose to nearly six lakh ahead of recent elections and increased to 12.98 lakh after the polls. He observed that small traders, daily wage workers, professionals, and educated youth have actively participated in the membership programme, reflecting the party’s widening social base. Political observers note that the party’s growth has been aided by expanded grassroots outreach, alliance-driven electoral exposure, and sustained engagement through digital platforms and volunteer networks.

The fresh membership drive is viewed as a strategic step to consolidate the party’s organisational base, particularly in coastal Andhra and urban centres where Jana Sena has shown steady expansion. Strengthening booth-level committees, building trained volunteer teams, and improving digital enrolment systems are expected to be key focus areas. Analysts say the initiative aims to transform Jana Sena from a personality-driven movement into a structured political organisation capable of sustained electoral performance. Party Political Affairs Committee Chairman Nadendla Manohar , Political Secretary to the President Pidugu Hariprasad , General Secretary Ram Talluri , and Programmes Committee Chairman Kalyanam Siva Srinivas , along with senior leaders and top membership mobilisers from previous drives, attended the launch. Party sources believe the campaign will play a crucial role in strengthening Jana Sena’s grassroots machinery and preparing it for future political challenges.
