Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy said that the trust reposed in him by the people over the last two decades had been the foundation of his political journey, enabling him to rise from a grassroots representative to the state's highest elected office.

The Chief Minister made these remarks during a visit to Midjil mandal in Mahabubnagar district , where he began his electoral career in 2006. As part of his tour, he inaugurated and laid foundation stones for development works worth Rs 47.08 crore and addressed a large public gathering organised as a thanksgiving meeting to mark 20 years of his political journey as an elected representative .

Recalling his career, Revanth Reddy said he had never taken a break from public life during the last 20 years and had always treated the opportunities given by the people as a responsibility. He noted that while in the Opposition he fought relentlessly on public issues, and after assuming office as Chief Minister, his government had focused on both welfare and development while addressing several long-pending challenges.

The Chief Minister described his election as a ZPTC member on July 4, 2006, as a historic moment for Midjil. He said the victory belonged not to him alone but to the people of the region who had placed their faith in a young leader from a rural background. Becoming Chief Minister, he said, was the result of the courageous decision taken by the people of this remote region two decades ago.

During the event, Revanth Reddy paid tribute to eminent leaders from the Palamuru region, including Burgula Ramakrishna Rao , the first Chief Minister of the erstwhile Hyderabad State, veteran parliamentarian Jaipal Reddy , senior leader Dyapa Gopal Reddy , and Mahendranath . He also unveiled statues of Dr B.R. Ambedkar and Dyapa Gopal Reddy in Midjil.

Highlighting the transformation of the region, the Chief Minister recalled that Midjil and Gattu mandals were once identified among the most backward areas due to poor infrastructure, lack of irrigation, inadequate healthcare facilities and migration. He expressed confidence that Midjil would emerge as a model mandal equipped with modern infrastructure and better opportunities for local residents. In this context, he publicly requested Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka to adopt the mandal and support its comprehensive development.

Calling himself a farmer's son, Revanth Reddy said he understood the realities of rural life and agriculture. He emphasised that the relationship between a government and its people should be as strong as that between land and seed, adding that the development of villages ultimately drives the progress of districts, states and the nation.

The Chief Minister highlighted several key initiatives undertaken by his government, including the resolution of the long-pending issue of SC sub-categorisation and the completion of a comprehensive Backward Classes caste survey , describing both as important milestones in advancing social justice.

The development package announced during the visit includes Rs 10 crore for the development of the Sri Anjaneya Swamy Temple at Urkondapeta , Rs 20 crore for infrastructure works in 40 gram panchayats that were earlier part of Midjil mandal, and Rs 17.08 crore for the construction and restoration of check dams and water conservation structures, including projects near Bhairampalli, Vadiyal and Vaspula villages.

Later, the Chief Minister visited the Sri Pabbathi Anjaneya Swamy Temple at Urkondapeta and offered special prayers. The tour concluded on an emotional note as Revanth Reddy interacted with former sarpanches, MPTCs, political associates and residents who had supported him during the early years of his political career. Looking through photographs from two decades ago and exchanging memories with old colleagues, he reflected on a journey that began in rural Mahabubnagar and ultimately led him to the Chief Minister's office.
