Perni Nani Seeks CBI Probe Into Alleged Irregularities In DSC-2025

The YSR Congress Party has renewed its demand for a CBI investigation into alleged irregularities in the DSC-2025 recruitment process, while calling for a fresh verification of certificates submitted by candidates selected under the sports quota.

Former minister Perni Nani raised the issue during a media interaction in Tadepalli on Friday, alleging that several discrepancies could come to light in the teacher recruitment process. He said the government should not allow questions surrounding the selection process to remain unanswered, regardless of the extent of political or media support enjoyed by the ruling Telugu Desam Party.

Nani specifically referred to the recruitment of a candidate under the sports quota for a primary school in Vallur village of Kowthalam mandal in Kurnool district. He alleged that the candidate had not qualified the mandatory Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) but was nevertheless appointed through the sports quota.

According to Nani, around 24 candidates from Kowthalam mandal secured appointments under the sports quota. He alleged that participation certificates in relatively less-publicised disciplines such as judo, fencing and equestrian sports were used to secure appointments, raising questions over the authenticity and eligibility of some selections.

The former minister demanded that the certificates of all candidates appointed under the sports quota in DSC-2025 be subjected to comprehensive scrutiny. He argued that such a review was necessary to establish whether eligible candidates had been denied opportunities because of irregular selections.

Nani also questioned those who had dismissed allegations earlier raised by former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, asking how an appointment could have been made in the Vallur school if the candidate had not cleared the required TET.

He further alleged that government orders issued during the recruitment process and their subsequent withdrawal had added to doubts over the selections. Nani maintained that only an independent CBI probe can establish the facts and determine whether any wrongdoing occurred.
