'Please Call Me Anna Konidela': Pawan Kalyan's Wife Makes Heartfelt Appeal

Anna Konidela, wife of Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister and actor Pawan Kalyan, has appealed to the public and the media to address her by her married name instead of her maiden surname, saying the change reflects her identity ever since their marriage in 2013.

In an emotional post shared on Instagram ahead of her birthday, Anna said she felt it was the right time to make the request. She described a person's name as deeply personal and revealed that she had wanted to share this message since creating her social media account.

Anna explained that many people continue to call her Anna Lezhneva because that was the name widely reported when she married Pawan Kalyan. However, she clarified that her marriage certificate is the only official document that still carries her maiden surname.

"From the day we got married, I officially adopted my husband's family name and became Anna Konidela. I have one small request for everyone—please call me Anna Konidela. That is the name that gives me a true sense of belonging," she wrote.

Along with the post, Anna shared a nostalgic photograph of herself with Pawan Kalyan, taken during a visit to St. Petersburg, Russia, recalling it as one of their cherished memories together. The post quickly attracted attention on social media, with many fans appreciating the personal note and responding with messages of support.

Anna has largely stayed away from the public spotlight despite being married to one of Telugu cinema's biggest stars and a prominent political leader. In recent months, however, she has become more active on social media, occasionally sharing glimpses of her family life and special moments with her followers.

Pawan Kalyan, the younger brother of actors Chiranjeevi and Naga Babu, made his acting debut with the 1996 film Akkada Ammayi Ikkada Abbayi before emerging as one of the Telugu film industry's leading stars. He married Anna in 2013, and the couple have two children, Polena Anjana Pawanova and Mark Shankar Pawanovich. From his previous marriage to actress Renu Desai, Pawan has two children— Akira Nandan and Aadya.
