PM Modi Says NDA Focused On Improving Citizens’ Quality Of Life Over 12 Years

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday said the NDA government has, over the past 12 years, increasingly focused on improving the quality of life of ordinary citizens by ensuring easier access to opportunities, stronger infrastructure, and better public services.

Describing his government as a “government for the middle class” , Modi said it is a privilege to work towards fulfilling the aspirations of the middle class, which he noted has contributed significantly to nation-building in multiple ways.

In a post on X, he said governance priorities have centred around better infrastructure, improved public services, affordable healthcare, quality education, cleaner cities, and reduced burdens in everyday life , with a focus on making development more inclusive and accessible.

The citizen engagement platform MyGov India said under Modi’s leadership, India’s middle class has seen a steady rise in living standards over the last 12 years , supported by tax relief measures, stronger connectivity, and expansion of public services.

It added that digital access and connectivity have expanded significantly , with over 103 crore mobile and internet connections across rural and urban India. It further noted that reduced data costs have enabled wider access to education, job opportunities, digital payments, and entertainment services , making daily life more efficient for citizens.

On transport infrastructure, MyGov India highlighted the expansion of Vande Bharat train services , stating that 164 operational trains have already served over 9 crore passengers , significantly reducing travel time on key routes. It added that the introduction of sleeper variants is expected to further improve long-distance travel convenience.

Urban mobility has also seen improvement with rapid metro expansion across major Indian cities , helping reduce traffic congestion and improving daily commuting reliability for students and working professionals.

The platform further stated that road infrastructure and toll systems have been streamlined , resulting in better logistics efficiency and smoother intercity travel. This, it said, has benefited both commuters and businesses by making transport faster and more predictable.

Overall, the government emphasised that coordinated reforms across infrastructure, digital connectivity, and public services have contributed to a more opportunity-rich and efficient ecosystem for citizens across the country.
