Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday held telephonic conversations with Sultan Haitham bin Tarik of Oman and Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah of Kuwait , expressing concern over the evolving situation amid escalating tensions in West Asia.

During the discussions, the Prime Minister conveyed India’s concern over recent attacks and growing instability in the region. He reiterated India’s position in support of sovereignty, territorial integrity, and stability of Gulf nations during this difficult period.

Officials said Modi also discussed the welfare and security of the large Indian community residing in Oman and Kuwait. Ensuring the safety of Indian nationals and strengthening bilateral coordination on their protection were key aspects of the talks.

The phone calls come against the backdrop of intensified military operations and retaliatory strikes involving regional and global actors, leading to heightened security concerns across West Asia. In recent days, leaders in the region have been engaging in diplomatic outreach to address the growing tensions and prevent further escalation.

Over the last two days, the Prime Minister has also spoken with the King of Bahrain, the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, the King of Jordan, the President of the United Arab Emirates, and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu , condemning attacks and expressing solidarity with affected nations.

India has consistently called for dialogue, restraint, and peaceful resolution of conflicts while maintaining strong ties with countries in the Gulf and broader West Asia region. The latest conversations underline New Delhi’s continued diplomatic engagement amid regional uncertainty.
