
Police job aspirant dies during recruitment run in Maharashtra
A 24-year-old man tragically lost his life while participating in a police recruitment test conducted by the Government Railway Police (GRP) in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra.
The incident occurred on Saturday morning during a 1600-metre running event at the Police Parade Ground. The deceased has been identified as Sangram Shinde , a resident of Palus in Sangli district. According to officials, Shinde collapsed just before crossing the finish line and was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, where he succumbed during treatment .
The recruitment drive, which began on Friday, aims to fill 93 constable posts . Over 600 candidates had appeared for the running test. Authorities have confirmed that a detailed investigation into the incident is underway.
The tragedy has raised concerns about the physical demands of police recruitment tests and the need for strict medical supervision during such events.
