‘Politics On Corpses?’ Abhijeet Dipke Confronted By Social Media Influencers In MP’s Balaghat

A visit by Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke to remote tribal villages in Madhya Pradesh’s Balaghat district turned tense on Saturday after a group of people described as social media influencers confronted and heckled him.

Dipke had travelled to Adori, Korka and Bondari villages to meet the families of tribal children who allegedly died of infectious diseases and to gather information about healthcare facilities in the area.

A video circulating on social media showed a woman identifying herself as an influencer approaching Dipke’s car with a microphone as he was leaving. She questioned him over his visit, asking whether he had come to “do politics on corpses” and why he had arrived in the area so late.

Dipke was heard apologising for the delay. The woman also pointed towards the road and said that a good road had been constructed in the area.

The exchange became increasingly heated, following which CJP workers accompanying Dipke moved him into another vehicle and drove him away. As the vehicle left, the woman was heard saying that he had “run away”.

The appearance of the group in the remote villages also drew attention from local journalists, who said they were surprised to see social media content creators from outside the area. Some questioned whether the group had been sent to disrupt Dipke’s visit, although there was no independent confirmation of such a claim.

The confrontation comes amid growing scrutiny of the health situation in the region. Earlier this week, the Jabalpur bench of the Madhya Pradesh High Court sought responses from the state government over the deaths of more than 30 children.

The court issued notices to the Health Department, Women and Child Development Department, Balaghat collector and others while hearing a public interest litigation alleging inadequate treatment. The petition also claimed that around 400 children were being treated at a hospital with a capacity of just 50 beds.
