Ponguleti Inaugurates Projects, Highlights Bhu Bharati Drive in Mahabubabad

Telangana Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy on Monday said the State government would ensure that development and welfare programmes are not affected, despite the challenging financial situation.

The government led by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy is focused on the overall development of villages and improving public welfare, the Minister said during an extensive tour of Mahabubabad district.

Accompanied by Minister Seethakka, Government Whip Ramchandra Naik, MPs Vem Narender Reddy and Balaram Naik, MLAs Murali Naik and K. L. Nagaraju, the District Collector and other public representatives, Ponguleti inaugurated several projects and laid foundation stones for new infrastructure works.

At Kesamudram, he inaugurated a 33/11 KV electricity substation constructed at a cost of Rs 1.90 crore, which is expected to improve power supply in the region. He also laid the foundation stone for a municipal building complex estimated at Rs 6 crore. New Tahsildar office buildings, each to be built at a cost of Rs 2.25 crore, were also launched in Inugurthy, Seerole and Danthalapalli mandals.

Highlighting the government’s land reforms, Ponguleti said the Bhu Bharati resurvey initiative was being used to resolve long-pending land disputes and provide farmers with updated ownership records. A nearly 60-year-old issue involving assigned lands in Narayanapur village of Kesamudram mandal has been resolved under the initiative.

Following the resurvey, 780 farmers received pattadar passbooks covering 1,378 acres of assigned land. The passbooks carry Bhu Aadhaar details, QR codes and land maps. The Minister assured that issues involving around 150 acres of assigned land still under cultivation would also be resolved soon.

Ponguleti said the Bhu Bharati Act, introduced by the government under Revanth Reddy’s leadership, was aimed at providing permanent solutions to land disputes. The broader goal, he said, was to survey every parcel of land and build a Telangana free of unresolved land conflicts.

Taking a swipe at the BRS, the Minister said those who had ignored land problems for decades had no moral ground to criticise the present government, which was steadily addressing farmers’ concerns.
