Timely execution of identified energy efficiency projects is essential to achieve sustainable industrial growth in Andhra Pradesh, said P. Pulla Reddy, Chief Executive Officer of the Andhra Pradesh State Energy Conservation Mission.

Speaking at the sixth Investment Bazaar workshop on Tuesday, he urged industries, MSMEs, bankers and technical experts to accelerate implementation and ensure projects move swiftly from approval to execution.

₹400 Crore Projects Identified

Through five previous Investment Bazaars, projects worth over ₹400 crore have been identified across the state. Speedy financial closure and on-ground execution, he noted, would significantly boost industrial competitiveness while advancing climate goals.

Support Under ‘Aditee’ Scheme

Entrepreneurs were encouraged to leverage the ‘Aditee’ scheme , which provides a 5% interest subsidy for micro and small enterprises and 3% for medium industries adopting energy-efficient technologies. The scheme covers 14 key sectors, including fishery, glass and refractory clusters in the Godavari districts.

Policy Push and Measurable Gains

Under the State Energy Efficiency Policy 2024–2028, compliance with the Energy Conservation Building Code (ECBC)-2017 has been made mandatory in 123 urban local bodies, with over 1,800 buildings approved under the norms.

Additionally, 59 industries have saved 1.3 million tonnes of oil equivalent energy under the PAT mechanism .

To ease financing, a special committee with 11 banks and two NBFCs has been constituted. Andhra Pradesh has also secured the top position for the fourth consecutive time in the National Energy Conservation Awards-2025 , underscoring its leadership in energy conservation.
