Prabhas’ 'Fauzi' Release Date In Trouble As 2027 Plans Trigger Fresh Speculation
Prabhas’ Fauzi was officially announced for a worldwide theatrical release on December 3, 2026, but the film’s release plans are now facing fresh uncertainty. Recent reports suggest that the Hanu Raghavapudi directorial could be postponed, with March 2027 emerging as one possible new window. However, the makers are yet to make an official announcement.
The speculation comes as the December release calendar gets increasingly crowded. Vishwak Sen’s 'Legacy' has officially locked December 4, 2026, while reports indicate that Naga Chaitanya’s 'Vrushakarma' and Dulquer Salmaan’s 'Sri Sri' are also targeting the first week of December. 'Legacy' is currently in the final stage of production, while its December 4 release has been officially announced.
At the same time, 'Fauzi' is still progressing under Hanu Raghavapudi. The production team had earlier been working with multiple units to complete the shoot in time for the December release. More recently, reports claimed that the makers are considering moving the film to 2027, with March being mentioned as a possible target.
Another report has suggested that Sankranthi 2027 could also be considered for the Prabhas starrer. That window, however, is already expected to be crowded, with films such as Chiranjeevi’s 'Kaaka', Venkatesh’s 'Vidudala', PVCU’s 'Mahakaali', 'Sambarala Yeti Gattu' and 'George Krish' reportedly in the race.
Interestingly, producer Y Ravi Shankar had recently reiterated that 'Fauzi' was planned for December 3, while the team was preparing new promotional material. A major glimpse was also expected to be unveiled in September.
The film stars Imanvi as the female lead, with Anupam Kher, Mithun Chakraborty and Jayaprada in important roles. Vishal Chandrasekhar is composing the music, while Sudeep Chatterjee handles cinematography. The period action drama is being produced by Mythri Movie Makers in association with T-Series.
For now, the December 3 date remains listed by several film databases, but the latest industry reports indicate that a change could be announced soon. An official word from the 'Fauzi' team is awaited.
