The Telangana government will celebrate Praja Palana Dinotsavam (Public Governance Day) on September 17 at the Public Gardens in Nampally, with elaborate arrangements being planned for the event. Chief Secretary Sanjay Jaju reviewed the preparations at a meeting held at the Dr BR Ambedkar Telangana Secretariat on Thursday and directed officials from various departments to coordinate closely to ensure the programme is conducted smoothly.

According to the Chief Secretary, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy will begin the day by paying tributes at the Martyrs’ Stupa opposite the Assembly before proceeding to the Public Gardens, where the main celebrations will be held. Jaju instructed officials to make all necessary arrangements at both venues and ensure seamless coordination among the departments involved.

The Chief Secretary also directed authorities to illuminate several prominent government buildings and historic structures across Hyderabad as part of the celebrations. He stressed the need for special attention to security, traffic management, sanitation and transportation to prevent inconvenience to participants and the general public.

To assess preparedness ahead of the event, officials have been asked to conduct a full-scale dress rehearsal on September 15. The rehearsal will help identify gaps in arrangements and allow departments to make necessary corrections before the main programme.

Jaju said the celebrations are expected to draw around 3,000 people, including approximately 1,000 women from self-help groups and another 2,000 attendees. He directed officials to complete all essential arrangements well in advance and ensure that visitors face no difficulties during the programme.

The meeting was attended by several senior officials, including Special Chief Secretaries Jayesh Ranjan, Vikas Raj and Ahmed Nadeem, and Chief Secretaries Naveen Mittal, Christina Zongthu and Shikha Goel. Hyderabad Police Commissioner Sajjanar, TSRTC Managing Director Nagi Reddy and Information Department Special Commissioner Mukund Reddy were also present.

The Telangana government has emphasised coordinated planning across departments to ensure that the September 17 celebrations proceed without disruptions and provide a fitting platform to mark Praja Palana Dinotsavam.
