A Bengaluru court has reissued a Non Bailable Warrant (NBW) against actor Prakash Raj after he failed to appear before the court in a case alleging his name appeared across multiple electoral rolls in three states. This marks the third NBW issued in the matter , which continues to draw attention due to its implications under electoral law and repeated non appearance in court proceedings.

The case, initiated through a private complaint filed in 2023 by advocate K Dilip Kumar, alleges that Prakash Raj was registered as a voter in multiple constituencies, including Shantinagar in Bengaluru, Velachery in Chennai and Serilingampally in Telangana, with reports also indicating entries across four electoral rolls in Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. The complaint links the matter to disclosures made during his candidature in the 2019 Lok Sabha election from Bengaluru Central constituency.

According to court proceedings, the magistrate court first issued summons in February 2026 through the Commissioner of Police after the actor was reportedly not traceable at the address provided. A first NBW was issued on March 17, followed by continued non appearance at scheduled hearings, including April 17, 2026. The latest warrant was reissued on June 12, 2026, with the court noting persistent non compliance with summons and earlier directives.

Recent reports from multiple national media outlets confirm that the case is being heard by the 48th Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate court in Bengaluru and that this is the third NBW issued against the actor in the same proceedings . Some reports also indicate that there were procedural delays during one listing as the presiding officer was undergoing training, though proceedings remained active.

Additional coverage has highlighted that the allegations fall under Sections 31 and 125A of the Representation of the People Act, 1950 , which deal with false declarations and concealment of material facts in election-related filings, carrying penalties including imprisonment and fines. Media reports further note that while some unverified claims suggested an arrest warrant, there has been no confirmed arrest or custody so far.

The next hearing in the matter is scheduled for July 25, 2026 , when the court is expected to review compliance and consider further legal action.
