Prasidh Krishna to Miss New Zealand ODIs, Siraj and Nitish Reddy Set for India A
India have suffered a setback ahead of their upcoming ODI series against New Zealand, with fast bowler Prasidh Krishna ruled out as he continues to recover from a hamstring injury.
The five-match ODI series begins on November 4, but Krishna will not be available as he has yet to recover from the injury sustained during the second ODI against the West Indies on September 30.
The team management is taking a cautious approach to his recovery, with the pacer expected to join the India A squad for its third four-day match against New Zealand A, subject to a Return to Play assessment. The move is aimed at helping him regain match fitness ahead of the two-Test series against New Zealand, starting November 19.
Meanwhile, Mohammed Siraj will join the India A squad for the second four-day match, while Nitish Kumar Reddy is set to link up with the team for the third four-day game.
The arrangements are part of India’s preparations for the upcoming Test assignments, with the management looking to ensure that its key players are match-ready for the longer format.
India have not named a replacement for Krishna in the ODI squad. His absence leaves the team without an established pace option for the five-match series, while the focus remains on ensuring his full recovery before the Test campaign.
