Preliminary SIT Report In Ram Temple Donation Case Submitted, Investigation Still On
The Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing allegations of financial irregularities and alleged misappropriation of donations linked to the Ram Mandir Ayodhya has submitted its preliminary inquiry report to the Uttar Pradesh government, officials said.
The report was handed over by Lucknow Divisional Commissioner Vijay Vishwas Pant to Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Sanjay Prasad , marking an early milestone in the ongoing investigation. However, officials have stressed that this is only a preliminary submission and not the final outcome of the probe.
According to sources, the SIT is still in the process of examining records, verifying donation-related transactions, and collecting statements from concerned officials and stakeholders. The team has not yet drawn any final conclusions, and further investigation is expected to continue in the coming weeks.
The Uttar Pradesh government had constituted the SIT on June 13 after receiving a request from the temple trust, following allegations that some donations collected for the Ram temple project may have been misused or improperly accounted for . The move came amid growing scrutiny over financial transparency in handling public contributions for the high-profile religious construction project.
While the preliminary report has been submitted, officials have not disclosed its contents, and there is no official confirmation of any specific findings or wrongdoing at this stage. Authorities have maintained that the inquiry is being conducted in a structured and fact-based manner , with emphasis on verifying financial records and ensuring accountability.
The case has sparked considerable public attention and debate due to the significance of the Ram temple project and the emotional and religious importance attached to it. At the same time, it has also triggered controversy over donation management and transparency , with calls for a thorough and impartial investigation.
The SIT is expected to continue its probe before submitting a final report to the state government.
