
President Murmu Embarks on Five-Day Visit to Madhya Pradesh and Odisha
President Droupadi Murmu will embark on a five-day visit to Madhya Pradesh and Odisha from Thursday, during which she will participate in a series of programmes focused on tribal welfare, healthcare, rural development, education, and environmental conservation , according to the Rashtrapati Bhavan.
The President will begin her tour in Betul, Madhya Pradesh , where she will attend the programme titled "Empowerment of Tribal Society by Spiritual Awakening" , organised by the Prajapita Brahma Kumaris Ishwariya Vishwa Vidyalaya .
Today president will participate in the International Sickle Cell Day celebrations at Omkareshwar in Madhya Pradesh. Later in the day, she will travel to Rairangpur in Odisha , where she will inaugurate a medical camp organised by AIIMS Bhubaneswar and launch several development projects, including a mega integrated rural piped water supply scheme for mining-affected villages under the Kusumi block. She will also inaugurate the Matrushakti Bhavan of Brahma Kumaris , a special circuit house, and police district infrastructure in Rairangpur.
On June 20 , which marks her 68th birthday , President Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit various locations in Pahadpur village in Odisha's Mayurbhanj district , including a school and a skill development centre. The two leaders will interact with beneficiaries and children before attending a public programme in Rairangpur later in the day.
President Murmu, who born on June 20, 1958 , in Uparbeda village of Mayurbhanj district to a Santhal tribal family , shares close personal ties with the region. Pahadpur is the native village of her in-laws.
On June 21 , the President will participate in the International Day of Yoga celebrations in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh , and later attend the 36th convocation ceremony of Rani Durgavati University .
The final day of her visit, June 22 , will see Murmu visit Kuno National Park , where she will interact with members of the Sahariya tribe , cheetah trackers, tourist guides, and the Kuno field team involved in wildlife conservation efforts.
The visit highlights the President's continued engagement with issues related to tribal empowerment, public health, rural infrastructure, education, and conservation , while also underscoring the Centre's focus on development initiatives in tribal-dominated regions.
