Quantum, AI And Supply Chains Drive Deeper India–US Tech Cooperation: US Official
The United States has reaffirmed India as a trusted partner in emerging technologies, including quantum computing, artificial intelligence, semiconductors, and supply chain resilience , as both countries deepen cooperation under expanding strategic technology frameworks.
US Under Secretary of State for Public Diplomacy Sarah Rogers said India plays a central role in Washington’s efforts to build secure and reliable global technology ecosystems, particularly across South and Central Asia. She said the partnership reflects “concrete implementation” of US priorities in advancing innovation, digital infrastructure, and resilient supply chains .
Rogers recently visited New Delhi, where she addressed students and researchers at Indian Institute of Technology Delhi, highlighting the Transforming the Relationship Utilising Strategic Technology (TRUST) initiative as a key platform for bilateral cooperation in advanced technologies.
She noted that TRUST has evolved into a broader framework covering quantum computing, AI systems, semiconductors, biotechnology, critical minerals, advanced manufacturing, and global supply chains . The initiative is increasingly viewed as a core pillar of Indo-US technology engagement.
Officials also link TRUST with wider Indo-Pacific coordination mechanisms, including the Quad , which focuses on secure digital infrastructure, cybersecurity, and resilient communication networks such as fibre-optic systems.
Recent reporting indicates that India is also being integrated into broader US-led supply chain security efforts involving allied partners in semiconductors, AI infrastructure, and critical minerals, reinforcing efforts to build trusted technology networks.
Rogers’ visit follows recent Quad engagements involving US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, underscoring continued momentum in technology diplomacy between Washington and New Delhi.
US officials described the relationship as a “productive symbiosis” between governments, industry, and research institutions. Analysts say the alignment reflects a shift toward trusted technology blocs focused on secure innovation ecosystems and reduced supply chain risks.
The India–US partnership is expected to further expand cooperation in quantum technologies, AI development, and resilient global supply chain architecture .
