RailOne App crosses 2 Cr downloads, handles nearly 6 lakh ticket bookings daily

The Ministry of Railways on Thursday announced that its RailOne mobile application has crossed two crore downloads within eight months of launch , marking a significant milestone in the government’s push to unify railway passenger services on a single digital platform.

The app has also surpassed five lakh ticket bookings per day this month , with officials stating that it now facilitates close to six lakh transactions daily , reflecting growing public confidence in the platform’s reliability and scale.

RailOne was developed by the Centre for Railway Information Systems (CRIS) and was launched by Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on July 1, 2025. Since its rollout, the application has seen rapid adoption among passengers across urban and rural regions, the ministry said in a statement.

Describing the app as a “unified digital gateway,” the ministry said RailOne integrates a wide range of passenger services that were previously scattered across multiple applications and portals. These include reserved and unreserved ticket booking, platform ticket purchases, train enquiries, PNR status tracking , and other passenger-centric utilities.

Unlike earlier railway apps such as IRCTC Rail Connect, UTS, or separate enquiry platforms, RailOne is designed as a single-window interface that combines booking, information, and post-booking services in one application. Officials said this consolidation reduces the need for passengers to download and manage multiple apps, while offering a more streamlined and consistent user experience.

The ministry noted that RailOne’s growing daily transaction volume demonstrates both its operational robustness and increasing user trust. By integrating essential services under one platform, the government aims to simplify digital access to rail travel and improve service delivery for millions of daily passengers.

With sustained growth in downloads and ticket bookings, RailOne is expected to play a central role in Indian Railways’ broader digital transformation strategy.
