Raksha Bandhan Celebrations Bring Festive Cheer to Telangana Leaders’ Homes

The spirit of Raksha Bandhan swept across Telangana on Friday, bringing families, supporters and political leaders together to celebrate the festival that honours the enduring bond between brothers and sisters.

Markets in Hyderabad witnessed festive activity as people stepped out to buy Rakhis, while celebrations were also held at the residences of several prominent leaders.

Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy marked the occasion with his family, with his sister Padma tying Rakhis to him and other family members. Telangana BJP president Ramchander Rao also received Rakhi greetings from his sister.

At Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s residence in Jubilee Hills, Ministers Konda Surekha and Anasuya Seethakka joined the celebrations and tied Rakhis to him. Telangana Women’s Commission Chairperson Gadwal Vijayalakshmi, commission members, chairpersons of various corporations, representatives of the Brahma Kumaris, and women Congress leaders also visited the Chief Minister and extended their festival greetings.

Minister Ponnam Prabhakar was similarly greeted by women who tied Rakhis as part of the celebrations.

State Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy received Rakhi wishes from several women, including former Gurrampode MPP Madhavi and former Narayanapuram ZPTC Bujji.

The celebrations continued at the Hyderabad residence of Munugode MLA Komatireddy Raj Gopal Reddy, where his four sisters tied Rakhis to him in a traditional family gathering. He also celebrated the occasion with his granddaughter Vanya, while women from Munugode and other areas visited his residence to convey their wishes.

Former minister and BRS Legislative Party deputy floor leader T. Harish Rao also hosted Raksha Bandhan celebrations at his residence. Women public representatives, supporters and well-wishers tied Rakhis to him and exchanged festive greetings.

Thanking those who visited him, Harish Rao said Raksha Bandhan reflected the love, trust and lasting emotional bond shared between brothers and sisters. He expressed gratitude for the affection shown by public representatives and supporters and wished for peace, happiness and harmony to prevail across Telangana.
