Ram Charan Reaches Coimbatore with Chiranjeevi, Upasana for Wrist Surgery

After winning hearts with Peddi, Ram Charan is now preparing for an important battle off screen. The global star has arrived in Coimbatore with his family to undergo wrist surgery after sustaining a serious injury while filming the film's intense wrestling sequences. The surgery is scheduled at the renowned Ganga Hospital on July 28.

Charan was accompanied by his father Chiranjeevi, mother Surekha and wife Upasana Konidela. Videos of the Mega family arriving in Coimbatore have already gone viral, with fans flooding social media with prayers and wishes for the actor's speedy recovery.

The injury dates back to the demanding shoot of Peddi, where Ram Charan transformed himself into a rugged wrestler. The actor had earlier revealed that what initially started as a single ligament tear became seven tears after he ignored the pain and continued shooting for nearly 20 days without getting an MRI. His dedication stunned fans, but doctors later advised surgery as the best long term solution.

Reports also reveal that this is not the first setback Charan faced during the making of Peddi. Earlier, he suffered a forehead injury on the sets and underwent treatment before returning to complete the film. Despite multiple injuries, he wrapped up the shoot and promotional events before finally prioritising his health.

After the surgery, Ram Charan is expected to take a few weeks off to recover. His next big project, tentatively titled RC17, directed by Sukumar, is expected to begin only after he receives medical clearance. Reports suggest Sukumar has been refining the script, and the delay could work in Charan's favour as he focuses on a complete recovery before facing the camera again.

Interestingly, Ram Charan is the third member of the Mega family to undergo surgery this year. Chiranjeevi recently underwent shoulder surgery, while Pawan Kalyan had rotator cuff surgery and is also recovering.
