Ram Charan’s latest release Peddi has delivered a sensational start at the worldwide box office, collecting over Rs 135.36 crore gross on its opening day, according to the makers.

The sports action drama , directed by Buchi Babu Sana , hit theatres across the country on Thursday and has opened to a largely positive response from audiences and critics alike. The strong opening has immediately placed the film among the biggest debutants of the year.

Production house Vriddhi Cinemas shared the impressive figures on social media, calling the film a “box office champion” and celebrating the milestone achievement on day one. The announcement highlighted the film’s wide acceptance across regions and its strong initial momentum.

Set in 1980s rural Andhra Pradesh , Peddi tells the story of a lower caste villager who turns to wrestling in a determined fight for dignity and recognition for his community. Ram Charan plays the lead role, portraying a character driven by resilience and social struggle.

The film also features Shiva Rajkumar as his mentor Gournaidu , Janhvi Kapoor in the female lead role, along with Jagapathi Babu , Divyenndu , and Boman Irani in key supporting roles. The music is composed by AR Rahman , while cinematography is handled by Ratnavelu .

Backed by Venkata Satish Kilaru under Vriddhi Cinemas, with co-production from Ishan Saksena under IVY Entertainment, the film is presented by Mythri Movie Makers and Sukumar Writings. Directed by Buchi Babu Sana , who previously made Uppena , this marks his second feature film and his first collaboration with Ram Charan .

With such a powerful opening, Peddi has given Ram Charan a strong box office comeback after the setback of his previous film Game Changer, setting high expectations for its performance in the coming days.
