Ram Charan's ‘Peddi’ Storms Into Cinemas With Thunderous Premiere Response

The wait is finally over. Ram Charan’s most anticipated film in years, Peddi , directed by Buchi Babu Sana of Uppena fame, arrives on screens worldwide today, June 4, and if premiere night is any indication, it is poised to be one of the biggest Telugu blockbusters in recent memory.

Set in 1980s rural Andhra Pradesh , Peddi follows a spirited villager who unites his community through sports to defend their pride against a powerful rival. Peddi was made on a budget of ₹350 crore , making it the third most expensive film in Ram Charan’s career after RRR and Game Changer . The film is widely projected to collect ₹85 crore or more in worldwide gross on its opening day, with the buzz for Peddi running higher than Game Changer , which had opened to ₹86 crore globally in January 2025. To enter the safe zone, the film needs to earn ₹350 crore net at the Indian box office alone, a benchmark only RRR has crossed in Ram Charan’s career so far.

An ongoing conflict between exhibitors and producers threatened to disrupt the film’s theatrical rollout, but Megastar Chiranjeevi personally stepped in to broker peace, and exhibitors agreed to screen Peddi on the existing rental basis.
