Ram Temple Donation Case: All Eight Accused Named in FIR Arrested in Ayodhya
In a significant development in the alleged Ram temple donation embezzlement case , police have arrested all eight individuals named in the First Information Report (FIR), with authorities saying the investigation has now entered a crucial phase.
The FIR was registered following recommendations made in the preliminary report of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) constituted by the Uttar Pradesh government to examine allegations of financial irregularities involving donations received at the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple in Ayodhya.
The complaint was filed by Krishna Mohan , a member of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust , after the SIT's initial findings pointed to suspected embezzlement during the handling of temple donations.
According to senior officials, all eight accused, who were associated with the counting of cash and valuables donated by devotees , were arrested late on Thursday night from Ayodhya. Police said the accused had remained in the city and were taken into custody without incident.
Officials confirmed that the suspects are currently being questioned as investigators seek to determine the extent of the alleged financial irregularities and identify whether additional individuals were involved. The accused are expected to be produced before a magistrate as legal proceedings move forward.
The case has been registered under multiple provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) , including offences related to theft by an employee or servant , criminal breach of trust , dishonestly receiving stolen property , and criminal conspiracy , among other applicable sections.
Authorities have not yet disclosed the exact amount allegedly misappropriated or whether further arrests are likely. Officials indicated that the investigation will continue based on evidence gathered during the ongoing interrogation and scrutiny of financial records.
The case has drawn considerable public attention, given the significance of the Ram Temple and the large volume of donations it receives from devotees across the country.
