‘Ramayana’ Roars Ahead of Release, Ranbir-Yash Epic Crosses ₹17 Crore in Advance Sales
Nitesh Tiwari’s ambitious two-part epic ‘ Ramayana ’ is generating considerable excitement ahead of its November 5 theatrical release, with advance bookings gaining momentum across India and overseas markets. Starring Ranbir Kapoor, Yash and Sai Pallavi, the film is emerging as one of the most anticipated releases of the year.
According to the latest trade figures, the film has grossed approximately ₹17.08 crore in opening-day advance bookings in India, including seats blocked by cinemas. It has sold around 3.33 lakh tickets across 6,780 shows, with bookings continuing to rise as more screenings become available. Excluding blocked seats, the advance collection stands at approximately ₹14.23 crore.
The Hindi version is leading the pre-release business, contributing around ₹14.17 crore, or nearly 83 per cent of the domestic advance collection. The Kannada version has also recorded a strong response, earning approximately ₹2.36 crore, while the Telugu version has contributed nearly ₹49.69 lakh.
The film has also attracted international attention, with overseas advance bookings adding to the excitement surrounding its release. Its grand scale, extensive visual effects and the popularity of its leading actors have helped build expectations around the project.
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari and produced by Namit Malhotra, the film features Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita and Yash as Ravana. The ensemble cast also includes Sunny Deol as Hanuman and Ravi Dubey as Lakshman.
Despite the growing excitement, the film has faced some criticism over its visual effects, particularly its colour grading and computer-generated imagery. Yash has also appealed to audiences to overlook minor technical shortcomings while appreciating the larger cinematic effort.
With its November 5 release approaching, the film's advance booking performance has raised expectations for a strong opening. However, its eventual box office success will depend on audience reactions and how well the epic connects with viewers.
