Ranbir Kapoor’s ‘Brahmastra 2’ To Begin In April 2027 After ‘Ramayana 2’

Ranbir Kapoor is set to return to the Astraverse after completing his work on Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana franchise. According to an exclusive Pinkvilla report, the actor will begin shooting for Brahmastra 2 in April 2027, following the completion of Ramayana Part 2.

Ranbir is currently busy with Ramayana, which is planned as a two part epic. The first instalment is scheduled to arrive during Diwali 2026, while Ramayana Part 2 is expected to release in 2027. The latest report states that Ranbir is likely to finish shooting the second part by January 2027, followed by a short preparation period before he joins Ayan Mukerji’s ambitious fantasy franchise.

Ayan Mukerji is already working on the scripting and pre-production of Brahmastra 2. The sequel will reportedly give Ranbir a challenging dual role, with the actor portraying both Shiva and Dev. The Dev character was teased at the end of Brahmastra: Part One Shiva, setting up the central conflict for the sequel.

Alia Bhatt will also return as Isha, reuniting with Ranbir for the next chapter of the Astraverse. The first film, released in 2022, introduced Shiva as a young man who discovers his connection to the powerful Astras. Amitabh Bachchan and Nagarjuna were also part of the original cast.

Meanwhile, Ayan is reportedly in talks with Deepika Padukone for the role of Amruta. The character is expected to be an important addition to the expanding mythology. However, Deepika’s casting is not officially confirmed yet, with her availability and the overall schedule still being discussed.

Interestingly, Brahmastra 2 had earlier emerged alongside Dhoom 4 as one of the projects Ranbir was considering for his next major commitment. The latest update now places Ayan’s sequel firmly in the spotlight.

Beyond Ramayana and Brahmastra 2, Ranbir also has Love & War with Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal, as well as Animal Park, keeping the actor's lineup packed with major franchises and big scale films.
