Popular rapper‑musician Aditya Prateek Singh Sisodia, known professionally as Badshah, has received a chilling death threat , allegedly from associates of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, amid mounting legal and public backlash over his recently released Haryanvi song Tateeree .

The alleged threat appeared on social media and claimed the artist had “tried to ruin the culture of Haryana,” warning: “We earlier showed you a trailer in your club in 2024; next time we will shoot you in the head.” The message also linked itself to a 2024 explosion outside Badshah’s Seville Bar and Lounge in Chandigarh’s Sector 26 , an incident previously claimed by a Canada‑based associate of the Bishnoi network.

The controversy stems from complaints that Tateeree contains obscene lyrics and inappropriate visuals , including the depiction of school‑aged girls dancing alongside suggestive phrases, which critics say sends a wrong message and disrespects women and minors. The track has been removed from all major streaming platforms , including YouTube, following the backlash.

Multiple FIRs have been registered in Panchkula and Jind districts , with police invoking provisions of the Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act, 1986 , and criminal sections related to obscene acts and songs. Panchkula police have initiated raids to arrest Badshah and sought a look‑out circular to prevent him from leaving the country. Formal notices have been served directing him to appear before investigators immediately.

Adding to Badshah’s legal troubles, the Haryana State Commission for Women has ordered his arrest and directed authorities to seize his passport , after he failed to appear before the panel by a set deadline to explain the song’s content. The commission’s chairperson, Renu Bhatia, condemned the lyrics as unacceptable and hurtful to “Haryana daughters.” She said strict action would follow if he did not comply. The commission is also reportedly seeking a statewide ban on his shows and has approached the National Commission for Women for wider enforcement.

In response to the furor, Badshah uploaded a video apology on his official Instagram, saying he regretted any hurt caused by the song and asking for public forgiveness.

Authorities say several police teams are conducting continuous raids at various locations to ensure compliance with the commission’s orders and secure Badshah’s arrest as part of ongoing investigations.
