Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Sunday made a strong assertion that the government would go ahead with the Musi River rejuvenation project regardless of political or other obstacles, calling it a transformative mission aimed at turning the river into a national model of environmental restoration.

Addressing a large public meeting in Nalgonda district, the Chief Minister said the pollution of the Musi had severely impacted regions such as Ibrahimpatnam, Bhongir, Munugode and Nalgonda. He alleged that certain groups were deliberately attempting to block the clean-up efforts despite their long-term benefits to public health and ecology.

Revanth Reddy also reaffirmed that the government would complete the SLBC project before the next elections , ensuring the supply of Krishna river water to Nalgonda. He added that the Dindi project would also be completed to strengthen irrigation and drinking water infrastructure across the region.

As part of a major infrastructure rollout, the Chief Minister launched a ₹13,060 crore Hybrid Annuity Model (HAM) road development programme , aimed at upgrading 6,092 km of roads across 441 road stretches in 34 packages statewide. He described the initiative as a “road revolution” that would improve connectivity and economic activity.

He also laid the foundation for a ₹83 crore drinking water supply project in Nalgonda town under the Telangana Urban Finance and Infrastructure Development Corporation.

Highlighting welfare and governance achievements over the past 30 months, the Chief Minister said his administration was ready for a full debate in the Assembly on its performance. He claimed the government was addressing what he described as developmental gaps left over from the previous decade.

Among key welfare measures, he listed issuance of new ration cards , distribution of fine rice benefiting nearly 3.28 crore people , financial assistance of ₹5 lakh for Indiramma housing , free electricity up to 200 units , and ₹500 LPG cylinders for eligible households.

On agriculture, he said the government had spent ₹1.56 lakh crore for farmer welfare and procured around 80 lakh metric tonnes of paddy . He also highlighted major policy steps including SC categorisation , a statewide caste survey , and recruitment of 70,000 government jobs .

In the education sector, the government has expanded schooling from nursery to Class 12 in public institutions and introduced breakfast, midday meals, and evening snacks for students. A dedicated Skills University has been set up, while ITIs are being upgraded into advanced training centres to improve employability.

The event was attended by senior leaders including Legislative Council Chairman Gutha Sukender Reddy, Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka, and ministers N. Uttam Kumar Reddy and Komatireddy Venkat Reddy.
