Rishab Shetty Takes Talent Hunt To North Karnataka After Bengaluru Auditions

National Award-winning actor and filmmaker Rishab Shetty has received an overwhelming response to his search for fresh talent, with more than 4,000 aspiring actors turning up for an open audition in Bengaluru. Through his production banner, Rishab Shetty Films, the filmmaker is looking beyond established industry circles to discover new faces for his upcoming project.

The casting call was announced on social media on September 24, inviting aspiring performers to become part of a new cinematic venture. The Bengaluru audition was held on October 2 at Vijaya College in Jayanagar, attracting applicants from different parts of Karnataka who hoped to make their debut in Kannada cinema.

The audition witnessed participation from college students, theatre artists and people with no previous acting experience. The large turnout reflected the enthusiasm among newcomers eager to work with Rishab, whose filmmaking has earned recognition for its connection to Karnataka’s cultural identity.

The production house invited men aged 20 to 65 and women aged 20 to 60 to audition for different roles. While both newcomers and experienced performers could apply, candidates proficient in Kannada were sought, with particular preference for those familiar with the North Karnataka dialect.

Following the encouraging response in Bengaluru, Rishab Shetty Films extended its search to Kalaburagi, offering aspiring actors from North Karnataka another opportunity to showcase their abilities. The audition was announced for October 18 at Sharnbasva University, taking the casting initiative beyond Bengaluru and making it more accessible to regional talent.

Rishab also shared a message encouraging performers to take their first step towards a film career, emphasising that their cinematic journey could begin with this opportunity. The team subsequently expressed gratitude to the thousands who participated, while reports indicated that candidates were being shortlisted after the Bengaluru auditions.

Although the upcoming film’s title, storyline and cast remain undisclosed, the casting drive has generated curiosity about the project and the newcomers who could eventually join it.

With Rishab Shetty Films continuing to champion fresh talent through projects such as 'Sarkari Hi. Pra. Shaale, Kasaragodu', 'Hero' and 'Laughing Buddha', the latest initiative reinforces its commitment to discovering performers from diverse backgrounds. The next big question is which aspiring actors will get their breakthrough opportunity through this search.
