Rishab Shetty's Film With Naga Vamsi Reportedly Shelved Amid Pay Dispute Rumours

Rishab Shetty is currently occupied with Jai Hanuman, directed by Prasanth Varma. The actor recently confirmed that he is shooting the film first and will immediately begin work on The Pride of Bharat: Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, saying he cannot work on two physically demanding films at the same time because both require different looks.

Amid his packed schedule, reports have emerged that his much anticipated historical action film with producer Naga Vamsi and director Ashwin Gangaraju has been shelved.

According to Telugu media reports, the project has reportedly been dropped after differences over Rishab Shetty's remuneration. The actor and the producer are said to have failed to reach an agreement on the financial terms, leading to the project being called off before production could begin. However, neither Rishab Shetty nor Naga Vamsi has officially responded to these claims, and there has been no confirmation from the makers.

The film was officially announced by Sithara Entertainments in 2025 and was planned as a fictional historical action drama set in 18th century Bengal, revolving around a rebel uprising. The announcement created significant excitement as it marked the first collaboration between the National Award winning actor and the Telugu production house, with Ashwin Gangaraju attached as director.

For now, Rishab Shetty's immediate focus remains Jai Hanuman, after which he is expected to begin The Pride of Bharat: Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Reports also suggest the Shivaji epic has grown into a two part film mounted on a massive scale, making it one of the biggest projects of his career.

While the reported shelving of the Naga Vamsi project has disappointed fans, an official clarification is still awaited. Until then, the reason behind the film's status remains based only on media reports.
