'Rowdy Janardhana', starring Vijay Deverakonda and Keerthy Suresh, has reportedly sparked fresh speculation about a possible two-part release. Directed by Ravi Kiran Kola, the rural action drama is among Vijay's upcoming projects, with the latest reports pointing towards a possible Summer 2027 theatrical release instead of the previously planned December 2026 window.

According to social media buzz, the makers are considering splitting the film into two installments. However, there is no official confirmation from the production team regarding the reported plan, and a final decision is yet to be announced. The possibility comes amid the growing trend of filmmakers dividing large-scale stories into multiple parts.

The film's title and first glimpse were officially unveiled in December 2025, introducing Vijay in a rugged, intense avatar. Set in the 1980s against the backdrop of East Godavari, the film features the actor in a raw, violent character with a distinctive regional accent. The glimpse showed him in a bloodied appearance, carrying a machete and confronting opponents, hinting at an action-heavy narrative.

The makers also released a special poster on Vijay's birthday in May 2026, offering another look at the lead pair. The poster highlighted the film's mix of rural action and romance, with Keerthy appearing in a striking face-off with Vijay.

Keerthy Suresh plays the female lead, marking the first time the two actors will share the screen as the principal pair. The film is directed by Ravi Kiran Kola, who made an impression with his debut 'Raja Vaaru Rani Gaaru'.

Produced by Dil Raju and Shirish under Sri Venkateswara Creations, the project is being developed as a pan-Indian film in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam. Christo Xavier is composing the music, while Anend C Chandran handles cinematography. Supreme Sundar is choreographing the action sequences, and Dino Shankar is the production designer.

In September 2026, reports said Vijay had moved to Mangaluru to shoot a major action sequence after wrapping up work on 'Ranabaali'. A substantial portion of 'Rowdy Janardhana' was reportedly completed by then, with further filming remaining.
