Rs 52-Crore Musarambagh Bridge Ready to Open, Set to Ease Amberpet Traffic

The newly constructed bridge across the Musi River at Musarambagh is nearing its opening, raising hopes of smoother travel and improved connectivity between Musarambagh and Amberpet.

Built by the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) at an estimated cost of around Rs 52 crore, the bridge is expected to significantly improve movement between the two busy localities and help reduce pressure on existing routes.

GHMC Commissioner R.V. Karnan visited the site to inspect the bridge and review the readiness of the surrounding infrastructure ahead of its opening. The inspection covered the approach roads, pending construction work and other facilities required to make the bridge operational.

The 400-metre-long and 14.5-metre-wide bridge has been designed to accommodate vehicular traffic while also providing dedicated space for pedestrians. Footpaths measuring 3.5 metres wide on either side have been developed to ensure safer and more convenient movement for people crossing the bridge on foot.

During the review, Karnan directed officials to speed up the remaining work and ensure that every component meets the prescribed standards before the bridge is opened to traffic. He specifically called for the early completion of road approaches, safety arrangements, street lighting, pedestrian facilities and other final-stage works.

Once opened, the bridge is expected to offer commuters a more direct and convenient connection between Amberpet and Musarambagh, potentially cutting travel time and easing traffic congestion on nearby roads.

The Commissioner also asked all departments involved in the project to work in close coordination and ensure that the facility is made available to the public with proper safety measures and supporting infrastructure in place.
