Rukmini Vasanth’s First Look revealed in Yash-starrer ‘toxic’

Actor Rukmini Vasanth has been unveiled as mellisa in toxic: a fairytale for grown-ups , the much-anticipated film headlined by Yash. The makers released the first look of her character on Tuesday, adding fresh momentum to the film’s promotional campaign.

In the newly released poster, Rukmini is seen in a glamorous and commanding avatar, walking through an opulent party setting with confidence and poise. Her striking presence hints at a powerful and layered character, suggesting that mellisa will play a significant role in the film’s narrative.

Director Geetu Mohandas , speaking about Rukmini in a press note, praised her intellectual approach to acting . She said Rukmini does not merely perform but deeply processes her characters, often asking questions driven by curiosity rather than doubt. Mohandas noted that this approach pushes her as a filmmaker to reflect more deeply on her own creative decisions. She also shared that Rukmini is known to quietly write in her journal between shots, documenting thoughts and small moments from the set, which reflects the actor’s habit of building a rich inner world for her performances.

Written by Yash and Geetu Mohandas and directed by Mohandas, toxic: a fairytale for grown-ups is positioned as a dark, stylised action drama with a strong ensemble cast. The film has been shot simultaneously in Kannada and English, with dubbed versions planned in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and several other languages to ensure a wide pan-India and global reach.

Earlier, the makers unveiled first looks of other key characters, including Kiara Advani as Nadia, Huma Qureshi as Elizabeth, Nayanthara as Ganga, and Tara Sutaria as Rebecca . Each reveal has added to the intrigue surrounding the film’s expansive and character-driven storyline.
